State Secretariat of the Security Council of Belarus

General information

The State Secretariat of the Security Council is a body of the Security Council of the Republic of Belarus. The Security Council is a supreme constitutional collegial and political coordination authority that implements the President’s decisions in the field of national security.

Main tasks

  • to provide information and analysis, as well as legal, organizational and technical support for activities of the President and the Security Council in the field of national security while assessing domestic and foreign threats to crucial interests of individuals, the society, and the country;
  • to coordinate activities of government authorities in drafting the national security strategy;
  • to oversee execution of decisions of the Security Council and activities of government authorities to ensure safety of individuals, the society, and the country on the President’s instruction;
  • to operate interdepartmental commissions at the Security Council, including commissions on economic security, protection of state secrets, military and technical cooperation, export control, information security.
