Meeting with Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin

On the eve of the session of the Executive Committee of the Belarus-Russia Union State, on 8 September 1999, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko met with Vladimir Putin who came to Minsk for the first time in the capacity of Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation.

The parties discussed bilateral relations and the Union State. Vladimir Putin gave best regards to the Belarusian Head of State from Russian President Boris Yeltsin and assured that Belarus would always be Russia’s strategic partner.
