Medal of Zhukov awarded to veterans of the Great Patriotic War

Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko awarded the Medal of Zhukov to Great Patriotic War veterans at a ceremony in Minsk on 27 November 1997. Twenty-two veterans, including Heroes of the Soviet Union and holders of the highest military award – the Order of Glory 1st, 2nd and 3rd Class – were honored with the Medal of Zhukov in recognition of their bravery and courage in the fight against Nazi invaders.
