Visit to Kaliningrad Oblast of the Russian Federation

On 14-15 October 1999 Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko paid a visit to Kaliningrad Oblast of the Russian Federation. The Head of State held talks with the local authorities, discussed cooperation prospects in various areas. A relevant intergovernmental agreement was signed. Aleksandr Lukashenko met with representatives of business and the public of Kaliningrad Oblast.

On the second day of the visit Aleksandr Lukashenko was shown a naval base of the Baltic Fleet. The Head of State inspected wardrooms of the Bespokoiny flagship, the harbor basin, deployment sites of ships of the Baltic Fleet. After that, the President headed to the monument to Peter the Great, where he planted a tree and met with members of the public of the city of Baltiysk. Aleksandr Lukashenko also visited the Port of Kaliningrad and met with its senior officials and staff.
