Belarus President pardons 32 convicts ahead of Independence Day
Ahead of the Day of Independence of the Republic of Belarus as many as 32 people have been pardoned, including 28 convicted of extremist crimes. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has signed the relevant Decree.
The head of state has pardoned 20 women and 12 men. The decision has been made on the basis of the principle of humanism towards the convicts and their families.
All of them had petitioned for mercy, had pleaded guilty, and had shown repentance.
