Memorial ceremony for artist Vladimir Mulyavin

On 28 January 2003 Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko took part in a memorial service for People's Artist of the USSR and Belarus, the founder and frontman of the Pesnyary band Vladimir Mulyavin.

The ceremony was held at the Central House of Officers. “People like Vladimir Mulyavin do not die. They leave but their legacy stays with us,” the president stressed. The head of state added that Vladimir Mulyavin was a great man. He personified not only Belarusians and Belarus, but also the entire great Soviet country, the president added.
