Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has made a decision to reappoint the prime minister and vice ministers. He made the statement at the session to discuss topical issues of the social and economic development on 16 December.

The session focused on the composition of the future government and certain topical issues in the economy, especially in the context of the talks in Moscow. “As for the composition of the government, I have made a decision today to appoint those present at the meeting prime minister and vice ministers. I would like to listen to your opinions, your evaluation of the performance of current ministers before finally forming the government,” the President stressed.

However, he reminded that the government was formed before the presidential election. We have done this for the second time in our history to show who will work in the government if the president is elected,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed. “Nevertheless, we agreed that in about six months or a bit more we will find an opportunity to evaluate the performance of the new government; besides, people working in the government will understand whether they like this job or not,” the head of state said.

According to the President, the Belarusian government is efficient. But it has to be reappointed legally, it is needed to submit proposals to the prime minister and harmonize the issue with the House of Representatives.

Corresponding decrees will be signed in the near future.
