Working visit to Germany

On 22 April 1998 Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko paid a working visit to the Federal Republic of Germany.
The visit of the head of state began with the city of Salzgitter, where one of the enterprises of the MAN company is located. Aleksandr Lukashenko held talks with top executives of the vehicle manufacturer and then was shown the company’s lineup of trucks. On the same day, the president met with the prime minister of Lower Saxony and representatives of the German business, got familiar with the Belarusian exposition and the latest achievements of science and technology at the Hannover Messe. During the visit, the head of state also gave an interview to the German newspaper Welt am Sonntag.
