People’s Unity Day greetings
Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended greetings to his compatriots as Belarus celebrates Day of People’s Unity.
“This is a holiday of historical justice, symbolizing the national revival of Belarus,” the head of state said. “The eternal desire of Belarusians to live on their own land as a single family in peace and harmony came true on 17 September 1939. Since then we have learned the truth: in order to remain independent, we must stay strong economically, politically and spiritually.”
The message of greetings also says: “85 years ago our ancestors reunited for the sake of development and common future. Step by step, achieving labor feats and military victories, contributing talent and energy, millions of people strengthened the statehood, establishing themselves among peoples and cultures as a strong spirit and progressive nation.”
“Today, with the country developing and confidently moving forward, it is especially important to cherish the love and respect for our native land. This is the only way we will be able to pass on to our descendants the right to be called Belarusians,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
The Belarusian President wished health, kindness and well-being to everyone.
