Aleksandr Lukashenko sends Independence Day greetings to Ukrainian people
Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated brotherly Ukrainian people on Independence Day.
“Many generations of Belarusians and Ukrainians have lived in harmony and respect for centuries. From time immemorial, our ancestors traded, created families and raised children; together they courageously fought against fascism and rebuilt their common state in the first post-war years. We share such traits as strong work ethic, diligence, respect for elders and our traditions, original culture,” the message reads.
“Having gained independence more than three decades ago, the two countries chose their own paths of development, their own vision of the future. For this future to come, we should create conditions for peaceful coexistence of the entire region. We should make the most of our neighborhood to put an end to the confrontation. The Belarusian side is ready to do everything for this and even more. I believe that we can do it,” the Belarusian leader emphasized.
Aleksandr Lukashenko wished much-needed peace to all residents of Ukraine and all people of good will.
