Working trip to Chernobyl-affected regions

President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko continued his tour of the Chernobyl-hit regions. The head of state visited the urban-type settlement of Komarin, Bragin District, on 25 April.

Aleksandr Lukashenko got familiar with the spring sowing campaign and the implementation of his commissions to provide the Gomel Oblast and Bragin District with gas services.

The President visited the territory of the Polesie State Radiation and Ecology Reserve in Bragin District to see the radiological situation in Gomel Oblast and take stock of what has been done to mitigate the Chernobyl consequences.

The head of state also visited the Komarin regional hospital to assess the degree of medical services provided to the people in the Chernobyl-hit regions. A meeting to mark the 23rd Chernobyl anniversary took place in the Central Square of Komarin on 25 April. Aleksandr Lukashenko lit the Eternal Fire at the monument to the soldiers-liberators, spoke with the local residents.
