Talks with Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev

Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko held talks with Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev who made an official visit to Minsk on 17-18 January 1996. The Belarusian head of state met his Kazakhstan counterpart at the airport.
Following the negotiations, the countries signed important bilateral documents, including the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance. The leaders of the countries laid wreaths at the Victory Monument, visited the Academy of Sciences and met with the scientific and creative intellectuals and top executives of the enterprises.
