Commissioning of Belarus-Germany joint venture MAZ-MAN

On 8 September 1999 Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko took part in the official opening of the MAZ-MAN company. The joint venture to produce trucks was set up by Minsk Automobile Plant and Germany’s MAN company. The Head of State noted that he had great hopes for the new company. He assured that the state would always keep the automotive industry in focus, because it could become one of the drivers of Belarus’ economy. More than that, the new joint venture proved once again that Belarus was an absolutely safe place for foreign investment, the President noted.
