Official visit to China

On 16-19 January 1995 Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made an official visit to the People's Republic of China. After the official welcome ceremony, talks were held with China President Jiang Zemin in a face-to-face format and then with the participation of the delegations. The parties signed a joint declaration on further development and deepening of cooperation between Belarus and China.

Aleksandr Lukashenko met with Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Qiao Shi, Premier of the State Council Li Peng and other officials, and got familiar with the work of a number of Chinese economic infrastructure facilities. The head of state laid a wreath at the Monument to the People's Heroes.
