Official visit to Iran

On 6-9 March 1998 Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko paid an official visit to Iran. The Belarusian delegation included senior officials of the parliament, the government and representatives of major industrial enterprises. In Tehran the head of state held talks with President Seyed Mohammad Khatami, met with Iran's spiritual leader Ali Khamenei, and representatives of Iranian business.
Aleksandr Lukashenko visited Kish, a Persian Gulf island having a free trade zone status. Bilateral documents were signed during the visit.
