Official visits to the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Kuwait

On 26-28 October 2002 Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko went on a visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The head of state held talks with King Sheikh Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa and Prime Minister Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that the main objective of the visit was to establish close relations in politics, trade and economy, and other fields. The parties agreed that they needed to intensify business contacts, enhance trade and investment cooperation, and look into setting up joint enterprises. Several bilateral agreements were signed during the visit.

On 28-29 October 2002 the Belarusian president paid an official visit to the State of Kuwait. At the airport, the Belarusian head of state was welcomed by Emir of Kuwait Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, which was a great honor in accordance with local diplomatic traditions and a display of profound respect for the distinguished guest. Top on the agenda of the talks in Kuwait City was the expansion of bilateral contacts across the board. A special emphasis was put on economic ties.
