Official visit of Venezuela President Hugo Chavez

A meeting of the Belarusian and Venezuelan presidents took place in Minsk. The negotiations between Aleksandr Lukashenko and Hugo Chavez started out as a narrow format meeting and continued as an extended one.

The heads of the two states talked over key international problems, issues related to expanding the co-operation of the two countries at international organizations, the development of the bilateral co-operation in many spheres. Significant attention was paid to the prospects of Belarus-Venezuela trade and economic cooperation.

After the negotiations the sides signed bilateral documents.
