Meeting with Chairman of House of Nationalities of Assembly of Union of Myanmar Khin Aung Myint

Belarus is ready to enhance all-round cooperation with Myanmar, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with Chairman of the House of Nationalities of the Assembly of the Union of Myanmar Khin Aung Myint on 22 May.
“We are ready to cooperate with you in all areas, from civil and military education to cooperation in agriculture, industrial modernization. You have huge mineral deposits. We are ready to provide necessary equipment for agricultural and mining enterprises,” the head of state said.
According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, 3-5 key industries could be the foundation of cooperation between Belarus and Myanmar. It is essential to determine these areas on a bilateral basis. “We will build our trade and economic cooperation around these areas,” the Belarusian leader noted.
The President assured that Belarus is ready to do its best to expand bilateral cooperation, develop new ideas and practical solutions.
Khin Aung Myint, in turn, confirmed Myanmar’s readiness to develop mutually beneficial relations with Belarus, including taking into consideration the possibility to reach the Eurasian Economic Union market. Apart from agriculture and deliveries of equipment, there are good opportunities for the development of bilateral interaction in education and tourism. A committee on cooperation with Belarus has been already established in Myanmar. “We hope to find a way to utilize the cooperation potential between our countries in the near future. We need such reliable partners as Belarus,” Khin Aung Myint said.
