Distinguished Belarusians honored with state awards
Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No.245 to honor 102 Belarusians from different walks of life with state awards.
Orders, medals, honored titles celebrate many years of fruitful work, high professionalism, exemplary performance of official duties, significant personal contribution to the country's defense capability, the development of the industrial complex and the construction industry, agriculture and road maintenance sector, achievements in healthcare, science, education and culture, training of highly qualified professionals and athletes.
The Order for Service to the Homeland has been awarded to Deputy Chief of Armaments of the Armed Forces Sergei Lyakh, the head of the main organizational and mobilization department - Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Aleksandr Shkirenko, the head of the 602nd repair and storage base of the Armed Forces Oleg Germanov.
The Order of Honor has been awarded to Director of the Nepogodin Bobruisk Integrated Printing House Vladimir Pasko, Director of Construction Department No. 25 affiliated with Minskpromstroy Konstantin Shamin and milking machine operator of the Boltishki agricultural enterprise from Voronovo District Danusya Vilkel.
Ten servicemen of the Armed Forces have been awarded with the Medal for Excellence in Military Service. Among them is Commander of the Minsk Military Commandant Dmitry Zhukovsky. The Medal for Excellence in the Maintenance of Public Order has been conferred on Deputy Head of the Urbany customs post of the Vitebsk Customs Office Mikhail Khabalyuk.
The Medal for Labor Merits awardees include a large group of people from various walks of life. Among them are Director General of Construction Trust No. 4 Anatoly Vederchik, Director General of Minskpromstroy Oleg Dashkevich, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Belarusian National Technical University Oleg Gusev, Chairman of the Vitebsk District Executive Committee Gennady Sabynich, and Director General of Minskmetrostroy Leonid Stukhalsky.
The Francysk Skaryna Medal has been awarded to Chairwoman of the Brest Oblast branch of the Union of Writers of Belarus Tatiana Demidovich and Director General of the United Energy and Nuclear Research Institute Sosny of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Andrei Kuzmin.
The decree has also awarded some Belarusians with honorary titles of the Republic of Belarus. The Honored Figure of Culture of Belarus title has been bestowed upon BelTA’s commentator Alina Grishkevich and the Honored Scientist of Belarus title – upon Vice Rector of the Belarusian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education Yuri Gain and Head of the A.N. Sevchenko Institute of Applied Physical Problems Piotr Kuchinsky. The Honored Worker of Agriculture of Belarus title has been awarded to Director General of the Molochny Mir dairy Marina Anikeyeva, the Honored Builder of Belarus title – to Director General of Rogachev’s Road Building Directorate No.1 Tatiana Balakireva, and the Honored Lawyer of Belarus title – to Professor of the Environmental and Agricultural Law Department at Belarusian State Universality Sergei Balashenko. Director of 558 Aircraft Repair Plant Pavel Pinigin has been awarded with the title "Honored Worker of the Manufacturing Sector of Belarus" and rhythmic gymnastics coach at the National Olympic Rhythmic Gymnastics Training Center Marina Lobach - the title "Honored Coach of Belarus". Some representatives of universities and colleges have been awarded with the title of the Honored Worker of Education title and some servicemen – with the Honored Specialist of the Armed Forces title.
