First deputy chief of Belarusian army’s General Staff dismissed

    Major General Andrei Matiyevich has been relieved of his duties as First Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces. Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed the corresponding decree No. 283 on 20 August.

    Andrei Matiyevich has been discharged from military service to the reserve due to age, with the right to wear military uniform and insignia.
