Aleksandr Lukashenko met with Belarusian representative in the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission Sergei Rumas

Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko met with Belarusian representative in the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission Sergei Rumas to receive his report ahead of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting which is due in Minsk on 29 April.

The parties discussed the uncoordinated positions on the Eurasian Economic Union Treaty.

Sergei Rumas informed the President on the recent meeting of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission which highlighted all the issues that would make part of today’s Eurasian Economic Council. First of all, they pertain to the work on the Eurasian Economic Union Treaty. According to Sergei Rumas, this work is nearing its completion. “However, as you have just said, there are a number of issues which have not been settled yet at the level of the vice premiers and prime ministers. Here we need a signal how to move further. It should be done as quickly as possible as we have little time left for it. The document is huge, it has more than 800 pages. Interstate coordination and the relevant procedures are needed before its signing,” Sergei Rumas said.
