Aleksandr Lukashenko expresses condolences over passing of Hugo Chavez
President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent personal messages of condolence to the family of Hugo Chavez, his brother, Governor of Barinas State Adan Chavez, Vice-President Nicolas Maduro, Chairman of the National Assembly Diosdado Cabello and the people of Venezuela.
“It is with immense sorrow that I received the news about the passing of my Friend and Brother. Hugo Chavez will be remembered in history books as an ardent patriot who dedicated his life to the faithful service to the Homeland and to the ideals of the Bolivarian Revolution,” the message of condolence sent to Nicolas Maduro reads.
“Thanks to the consistent and effective work of Hugo Chavez on the international arena, all of us and the international community will remember him as an example of a staunch and honest person, a true people’s President and a national leader who will be a role model for future generations,” the message runs.
The Belarusian head of state expressed confidence that the cause of Hugo Chavez – the Bolivarian Revolution in Venezuela and the country’s participation in integration processes in Latin America – will be continued.
“People in Belarus appreciate exceptional efforts and a big contribution of President of Venezuela Hugo Chavez to the development of bilateral relations between the two countries. His name is engraved in the book of history of the Belarusian-Venezuelan strategic partnership with the golden letters,” the Belarus President stressed.
The message of condolence sent to Chairman of the National Assembly Diosdado Cabello reads that in Belarus and worldwide the Venezuelan leader was known and respected as an outstanding politician, a dedicated patriot, a principled head of state who did his best to protect its freedom and sovereignty, who was a locomotive of integration processes in Latin America. “Thanks to Hugo Chavez’s efforts, Venezuela has made undeniable progress in the course of onward social and economic development and managed to raise living standards of each and every Venezuelan,” the Belarusian head of state emphasized.
“I am proud that together with Hugo Chavez we created a solid foundation for the development of bilateral cooperation and strategic partnership between Belarus and Venezuela for the sake of wellbeing and prosperity of our nations. Your country can rely on fraternal Belarus in the future,” Aleksandr Lukashenko remarked.
