The STV TV channel is one of the three national TV channels in the Republic of Belarus.

ZAO Stolichnoye Televideniye was founded on 19 October 2000. The first STV newscast was aired on 1 January 2001.

The company has offices in all Belarusian regions. It also operates the RTR-Belarus channel. The company employs more than 300 people: reporters, editors, camera operators, and video editors.

The company gives priority to news and analysis. Investigative journalism projects are especially popular among the audience. The TV channel provides extensive coverage of events in the Belarusian capital and Minsk Oblast. For many years, the channel has run a popular ‘people’s project’ – “You are welcome to complain”. The STV channel is known for  high-quality TV documentaries.

The channel is stepping up its presence on the internet, steadily gaining more online viewers. STV uses HDTV broadcasting. It was the first company in the country to adopt this broadcasting standard.
