Retail trade

Retail trade is one of the most important economic sectors.

In 2025, the retail trade growth amounted to 6.6% (or Br102.9 billion) in comparable prices from 2024.

The Republic of Belarus has a well-developed trade infrastructure. Along with the opening of convenience stores, construction of retail outlets continues. There are more and more modern shops (hyper- and supermarkets) and multifunctional shopping centers with shops, food courts and other facilities.

Online trade has been increasingly vibrant and accounted for 14% of the country's retail trade volume in 2025.

Public catering plays an important role in the life of modern society and is one of the most promising and rapidly developing areas of the economy.

In 2025, the turnover of the public catering industry increased by 5.1% in comparable prices to the level of the previous year and amounted to Br7.4 billion.

The public catering network has a steady tendency to growth and has almost 17,000 public catering facilities. This number increased by more than 2,000 in 5 years. The network includes different types of catering facilities from prestigious restaurants to cozy cafes and coffee shops.
