Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko is holding a meeting with activists of the Belarusian Women’s Union on 5 March.
More than 500 representatives of the public association from all regions of the country are attending the event.
“I am ready for an open, candid conversation. You know our system of government: if we agree on something, it will definitely be put into practice in our country. Therefore, our meeting may play a decisive role in dealing with some issues,” the president emphasized.
The head of state noted that Belarus has a long-standing tradition of congratulating “the strongest, most courageous, beautiful, reliable and loved women” in the first days of spring.
“This day, 8 March, has become a truly national holiday for us. This day offers an opportunity not only to appreciate women for their understanding and devotion, kindness and sensitivity, but also to reflect on their role in society, to ask ourselves whether we have done everything to make sure our mothers and wives, sisters and daughters are happy, and what else needs to be done to make our Belarus more beautiful so it will be as beautiful as our women. Another point that I want to make is that Belarusian women are the most beautiful women in the world. I strongly believe in that,” said Aleksandr Lukashenko.
The head of state said that he accepted the invitation of the Belarusian Women’s Union to discuss these important issues in the run-up to 8 March. “It is you, who are in attendance, and another 170,000 active members of the union who feel very strongly the responsibility for the future of their country, who worry about its future. This is undeniable, you are in the vanguard. You and only you are ahead of the curve, at the forefront of this patriotic movement. You love your country, your Motherland like no one else does. There is a reason for this. Our future, the future of any country, is in the hands of the youth and children. Therefore, you want peace, calm and prosperity for our country. The future of the state is the future of our children. That’s why your female perspective on the development of society is so important,” the president emphasized.
