Greetings to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi
Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on India’s assumption of the BRICS presidency.
“Belarus highly appreciates India’s efforts to maintain peace and stability. Your country’s economic, religious, and cultural authority has been one of the pillars of global balance for centuries,” the congratulatory message reads.
Aleksandr Lukashenko is confident that the year under India’s presidency will be a period of new achievements and successes for BRICS and that Narendra Modi’s wisdom and forward-looking policies will contribute to further progress and preservation of BRICS’ position as one of the most influential international organizations.
The head of state thanked the prime minister for India’s assistance with getting the BRICS partner status for Belarus. “We are ready for fruitful work under the Indian presidency for the sake of successful construction of a just and multipolar world order,” he added.
The Belarusian leader noted the importance and topicality of the priorities set by New Delhi for BRICS for 2026. Those include innovation, cooperation, sustainable development, and responding to challenges.
“As a responsible member of the international community and a country with significant technological potential and achievements in the areas of food security and water security, Belarus is ready to share its advances to ensure the harmonious development of the Global South. We are already doing a lot in this direction while partnership with great India opens up new unique prospects,” the President stressed.
Aleksandr Lukashenko is convinced that Belarus’ upcoming accession to the New Development Bank will contribute to more efficient cooperation. The President counts on India’s support for Minsk’s application to this structure.
“I look forward to meeting with you in person soon, my dear friend, to exchange views on bilateral and multilateral agendas,” the Belarusian leader added.
The Belarus President wished the prime minister of India good health, prosperity, and success during India’s BRICS presidency.
