Heads of state congratulate Belarus President, Belarusian nation on 81st anniversary of Victory

    Numerous congratulations on the 81st anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 that are addressed to Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko and the Belarusian people keep coming in.

    Wishes for peace, well-being, and prosperity for the Belarusian people, and warm words addressed to veterans and homefront workers have been sent by foreign leaders, prominent figures from various fields, and heads of international organizations.

    In his congratulatory message Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized that Victory Day is forever inscribed in the shared history of the two countries as a symbol of courage, heroism, and selflessness.

    “Russians and Belarusians will never forget the glorious feats of the frontline soldiers, partisans, and underground resistance fighters who crushed Nazism at the cost of enormous sacrifices and hardships,” the congratulation says. “It is our moral duty to preserve and pass on to descendants the bonds of brotherly friendship and mutual assistance tempered in the harsh war years, and, of course, to resolutely oppose together any attempts to justify the atrocities of the Hitlerites and their accomplices or to revive the misanthropic Nazi ideology.”

    “We highly value the contribution of our Belarusian friends to ensuring the defense capability and security of the Union State [of Belarus and Russia]. I am confident that by acting together, our peoples will be able to overcome any trials with honor,” Vladimir Putin noted.

    The Russian leader also conveyed the warmest congratulations, words of deep gratitude, and wishes for good health, mental fortitude, and longevity to all veterans living in Belarus.

    In his congratulation to the Belarusian leader, Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that on Victory Day descendants pay tribute to frontline soldiers and homefront workers with a feeling of deep gratitude for their unparalleled heroism and selfless labor.

    “I am convinced that the unity and friendship of our peoples, tempered in harsh trials, will continue to serve as a solid basis for further strengthening the multifaceted relations between Kazakhstan and Belarus,” the congratulation says.

    Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also conveyed words of sincere gratitude to war veterans and homefront workers, and wishes for well-being and prosperity to the people of brotherly Belarus.

    In his message Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that the Uzbek and Belarusian peoples went through the most difficult military trials shoulder to shoulder and made an invaluable contribution to bringing the Great Victory closer.

    “On this momentous day we bow before the blessed memory of the heroes who gave their lives in the name of peace and freedom, mourn the countless victims of fascism, and gratefully honor the veterans who brought the Victory closer at the frontline and on the homefront,” the congratulation says.

    Shavkat Mirziyoyev wished Aleksandr Lukashenko health, happiness, and well-being, and peace and prosperity to the friendly Belarusian people.

    Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev noted that 9 May is a holiday that has gone down in history as a symbol of unparalleled heroism, valor, and selflessness.

    “We honor with deep respect the memory of all the heroes who defended the freedom of their Motherland at the cost of irreparable losses and hardships,” the congratulation says. “I am convinced that the traditions of friendship and mutual assistance, tempered in the years of harsh trials, will continue to serve as a reliable basis for the development and strengthening of relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Belarus.”

    Ilham Aliyev wished Aleksandr Lukashenko, all war veterans and homefront workers, as well as the entire friendly people of Belarus happiness and well-being.

    Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon expressed conviction that the unshakable spirit of the universal Victory in the Great Patriotic War will continue to serve as a solid basis for the comprehensive development and strengthening of relations between Belarus and Tajikistan in the spirit of friendship, mutual respect, and trust.

    “On the sacred day of 9 May, we bow our heads in memory of those who did not return from the battlefields. We pay tribute to the heroes who defended our freedom, to the feats and valor of our ancestors at the frontline, and to their selfless labor on the homefront,” the leader of Tajikistan noted.

    Emomali Rahmon wished Aleksandr Lukashenko strong health and further success in his responsible state activities, and peace, well-being, and sustainable development to the friendly people of Belarus.

    In his congratulatory message Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov highly appreciated Belarus’ efforts to preserve the historical truth about the war and pointed out the inadmissibility of any attempts to distort it.

    “I am confident that common values, historical memory as well as traditions of friendship, mutual respect, and support between the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Belarus will continue to contribute to the further strengthening of allied and partner relations between our states,” he emphasized.

    Sadyr Japarov wished Aleksandr Lukashenko health and well-being, and peace and prosperity to the people of Belarus.

    Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdimuhamedow noted in his congratulatory message that Victory Day is a bright holiday symbolizing peace, goodwill, and humanism. “On this day we remember with deep respect our heroes who fought at the frontline and worked in the rear for the sake of the freedom and future of generations. I am convinced that the memory of their feat will remain a solid basis for strengthening friendship and comprehensive cooperation between our countries,” the congratulation says.

    The Turkmenistan President wished the Belarus President strong health, happiness, and inexhaustible energy, and well-being and prosperity to the friendly Belarusian people.

    Congratulations also came from Kazakhstan’s first President Nursultan Nazarbayev. “This important date will forever remain in our shared history as a day of a great feat and deep respect for the generation of victors,” the message says.

    Congratulations to the Belarusian leader have also been sent by the leaders of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Collective Security Treaty Organization, and the Eurasian Economic Commission.
