Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko held talks with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in Baku.

The Belarusian head of state arrived in the capital of Azerbaijan to attend the World Climate Summit 2024.

The presidents noted that they had met more than once recently. During Aleksandr Lukashenko’s state visit to Azerbaijan in May of this year, the heads of state held fruitful negotiations focusing on trade and economic cooperation. They worked out a 12-point cooperation plan to advance bilateral relations in the short and long-term.

“We agreed on many things. I think we have everything in place to succeed. Just the day before, we discussed all the issues that we had raised with you. They are very relevant for us. I think that if our ministries and the ambassador take it up a notch, we will be able to do a lot for Belarus and Azerbaijan,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said at the meeting in Baku.

This autumn the presidents of Belarus and Azerbaijan also had the opportunity to discuss a number of important issues in Moscow and Kazan during the CIS and BRICS summits.
