Orders of the Republic of Belarus are honorary state awards presented in recognition of special services in social, economic, public and other activities aimed at strengthening the power of the state; gallantry and intrepidity displayed while protecting the state.

The Order of the Fatherland

The Order of the Fatherland 1st Class The Order of the Fatherland 2nd Class The Order of the Fatherland 3rd Class

The Order of the Fatherland is the highest order in the Republic of Belarus.

The Order of the Fatherland is divided into three classes:
the Order of the Fatherland 1st Class;
the Order of the Fatherland 2nd Class;
the Order of the Fatherland 3rd Class.

The Order of the Fatherland 1st Class is the highest award. The Order of the Fatherland 1st, 2nd and 3rd Class are awarded sequentially in recognition of:

- excellent results in the manufacturing, scientific, social, cultural, charity and other activities aimed at raising the wellbeing of people and strengthening the power of the state;
- gallantry and courage displayed while protecting the Fatherland and its state interests, enforcing the law and public order;
- a big contribution to the development of economic, scientific, technical and cultural ties between the Republic of Belarus and other countries.

The Order of the Fatherland is pinned to the left side of the chest. If there are other orders, except for the Order of Mother, it has to be placed before them in the order of seniority of classes.

Description

The Order of the Fatherland consists of two quadrangles placed above each other which make an eight-pointed star with the diameter of 44mm.

In the center of the star there is a circle with the diameter of 24mm. Inside the circle is an image of the National Emblem of the Republic of Belarus which is set in a frame of a wreath of oak and laurel leaves. At the top of the circle there is an inscription “Fatherland” against the red enameled background. The class of the order is inscribed at the bottom. The plain reverse of the order bears the serial number of the award in the center.

The order is attached to a pentangular bar by a ring. The bar is covered by a red moire ribbon with a lengthwise green stripe in the middle for the 1st class order, two green stripes along the edges for the 2nd class order, two green stripes along the edges and one green stripe in the middle for the 3rd class order.

The Order of the Fatherland 1st Class is made of gold plated silver, the Order of the Fatherland 2nd Class – of partially gilded silver, the Order of the Fatherland 3rd Class – of silver.

The Order of Military Glory



The Order of Military Glory is presented to the military of the Republic of Belarus in recognition of:

- outstanding achievements in managing troops, maintaining their high combat readiness and professional excellence;
- gallantry and intrepidity in protecting the Fatherland and its state interests, in the execution of other service duties;
- the contribution to enhancing comradeship-in-arms and military cooperation with foreign states.

The Order of Military Glory is pinned to the left side of the chest. If there are other orders, the Order of Military Glory has to be placed after the Order of the Fatherland.

Description

The Order of Military Glory is based on a five-pointed star superimposed on a radial pentangle. The decoration is a ten-pointed star with the diameter of 44mm. In the center of the star there is a circle with the diameter of 23mm. In the circle there is an embossed image of two warriors that embody ground and air forces. The circle is set in a frame of a wreath of oak and laurel leaves. There is an inscription “Military Glory” at the top against the green enameled background. The plain reverse of the order bears the serial number of the award in the center.

The order is attached to a pentangular bar by a ring. The bar is covered by a red moire ribbon with a lengthwise green stripe in the middle, three black and two orange stripes along the right edge.

The Order of Military Glory is made of gold plated silver.

The Order for Service to the Homeland

The Order for Service to the Homeland is divided into three classes:

- the Order for Service to the Homeland 1st Class;
- the Order for Service to the Homeland 2nd Class;
- the Order for Service to the Homeland 3rd Class.

The Order for Service to the Homeland 1st Class is the highest award.

The Orders for Service to the Homeland 1st, 2nd and 3rd Class are awarded sequentially.

The Order for Service to the Homeland is bestowed upon the military, senior and enlisted personnel of interior bodies, financial investigation bodies of the State Control Committee of the Republic of Belarus, emergencies bodies in recognition of:

- exemplary fulfillment of military duties, achievements in the combat training of troops in subordinate military units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus established in line with the legislation of the Republic of Belarus;

- maintaining high combat readiness of troops, ensuring the defense capacity of the Republic of Belarus;

- courage and intrepidity in the execution of military duty;

- outstanding achievements in the enhancement of state security, protection of the national border, crime control;

- other services to the Homeland.

Persons, who have been awarded an Order for Service to the Homeland in the USSR Armed Forces, are nominated for the Order for Service to the Homeland of the next class.

The Order for Service to the Homeland is pinned to the left side of the chest. If there are other orders, it shall follow the Order of Military Glory in the order of seniority of classes.

Description

The Order for Service to the Homeland is an eight-pointed convex star. Edges of the star made of golden diverging rays alternate with plain edges covered with blue enamel and having golden borders. There are two crossed rockets on the plain edges of the star.

In the center of the order there is a wreath of oak leaves and a gold plated five-pointed star framed by a ribbon. There is a golden laurel branch at the bottom of the ribbon and an inscription “For Service to the Homeland” at the top. The ribbon has golden edges. The star and the ribbon are superimposed on silver oxidized wings and a sword.

The edges of the star of the Order for Service to the Homeland 2nd Class are made of silver. Crossed rockets, borders of plain edges and the central star are gold plated.

The Order for Service to the Homeland 3rd Class is made of pure silver.

The Order for Service to the Homeland 1st, 2nd and 3rd Class are made of silver. The distance between opposite plain edges is 65mm, the distance between opposite radial edges is 58mm. The plain reverse of the order bears the serial number of the award in the center. The plain reverse of the order has a threaded pin with a screw nut for attaching the order to clothes.

The service ribbon is light blue with one lengthwise yellow stripe for the 1st class order, two stripes for the 2nd class order and three stripes for the 3rd class order.

The Order for Personal Gallantry



The Order for Personal Gallantry is presented in recognition of:

- exceptional gallantry and personal courage in the execution of military duty, civil or service duties;

- selfless deeds performed in emergency situations;

- courage in protecting the state border;

- courage in maintaining public order;

- bold and decisive actions performed in life-threatening situations.



The Order for Personal Gallantry is pinned to the left side of the chest. If there are other orders, it shall follow the Order for Service to the Homeland.

Description

The Order for Personal Gallantry is a gold plated red enameled cross superimposed on a golden rectangular surface bearing the image of ribbed rays. In the center of the cross there is a 22mm white enameled circle with the inscription “For Personal Gallantry” and laurel branches. In the center of the circle there is a golden five-pointed star against the dark red background. The circle is placed over a gilded sword. The plain reverse of the order bears the serial number of the award in the center.

The order is attached to a pentangular bar by a ring. The bar is covered by a golden moire ribbon with a lengthwise wine red stripe in the middle, a white stripe along the left edge and a wine red stripe along the right edge.

The Order for Personal Gallantry is made of gold plated silver.

The Order of Friendship of Peoples



The Order of Friendship of Peoples is presented in recognition of:

- a significant contribution to the strengthening of peace, friendly relations and cooperation between states, consolidation of the society and unity of peoples;

- particularly fruitful efforts aimed at uniting and enriching national cultures;

- considerable achievements in the international social, charity and humanitarian activities;

- a big personal contribution to the development and enrichment of the spiritual and intellectual potential of the Republic of Belarus, commitment to protecting human rights and social interests;

- special merits in the development of the foreign economic activity, democratic and social progress.

The Order of Friendship of Peoples is attached to a neck ribbon.

Description

The Order of Friendship of Peoples is a composition of a five-pointed star and a ten-pointed star. The five-pointed star covered with red enamel and framed by convex drops is superimposed on a ten-pointed star with the diameter of 59mm which is made of five golden pyramidal facets and five golden bunches of divergent rays. In the center of the order is an image of the globe with five continents. Parts of the globe are covered with blue enamel. The globe is framed by a chain of handshakes. The plain reverse of the order bears the serial number of the award in the center.

The order is attached by a flat ring to a 14x14mm bar representing the miniature National Flag of the Republic of Belarus and a blue moire ribbon 44mm wide.

The Order of Friendship of Peoples is made of gold plated silver.

The Order of Honor



The Order of Honor is presented in recognition of:

- great achievements in the manufacturing, scientific, public, social, cultural, sports and other activities;

- top performance in the manufacturing industry, agriculture, construction, communications, trade, housing and utilities services, transport and other industries;

- considerable achievements in healthcare, education and professional training of children and the youth;

- high labor productivity, improvement of the quality of products, reduction of material and labor costs of manufacturing said products;

- introduction of new equipment, technologies, especially valuable inventions and rationalization proposals;

- fruitful public and social activities;

- contribution to the development of economic, scientific, technical, cultural and other ties between the Republic of Belarus and other states.

The Order of Honor is pinned to the left side of the chest. If there are other orders, it shall follow the Order for Personal Gallantry.

Description

The Order of Honor is a rounded gold-plated octahedron. A four-pointed silver star with an embossed image of a man and a woman in the center is superimposed on the octahedron. The man and the woman hold the National Flag of the Republic of Belarus and a wheat sheaf. The flag is covered with red, green and white enamel. In the lower part of the order is a blue enameled ribbon that supports the laurel and oak branches which frame the order. The award is 50mm high and 46mm wide. The plain reverse of the order bears the serial number of the award in the center.

The order is attached to a pentangular bar by a ring. The bar is covered by a yellow moire ribbon with a lengthwise green stripe in the middle and a lengthwise red stripe along each edge.

The order is made of gold plated silver.

The Order of Francysk Skaryna



The Order of Francysk Skaryna is presented in recognition of:

- considerable achievements in national revival, profound research in the history of Belarus, the national language, literature, art, book publishing, cultural and educational activities, popularization of the Belarusian cultural heritage;

- special merits in humanitarian and charity activities, in the protection of human dignity and rights of citizens, mercy and other noble acts.

The Order of Francysk Skaryna is pinned to the left side of the chest. If there are other orders, it shall follow the Order of Honor.

Description

The Order of Francysk Skaryna is a four-pointed star with a circle inscribed inside an oval with the vertical diameter of 43mm and the horizontal diameter of 39mm. There is an embossed image of Francysk Skaryna in the center of the circle and a laurel branch at the bottom. The oval is framed by a white and blue ribbon with the inscription “Francysk Georgy Skaryna”. The plain reverse of the order bears the serial number of the award in the center.

The order is attached to a heptangular bar by a ring. There is a signet at the bottom of the bar. In the center of the bar there is a dark purple moire ribbon.

The order is made of gold plated silver.

The Order of Mother


The Order of Mother is bestowed upon women for giving birth and raising five and more children.

The Order of Mother is awarded once the fifth child is one year old, provided that the four other children of the mother are alive.

The Order of Mother is given to the mothers of children:

- adopted in line with the legislation;

- killed or missing as a result of the efforts to protect the Homeland and its state interests, in the execution of the civic duty to save human lives, maintain legality and public order; perished as result of a wound, maiming, disease acquired under the aforementioned circumstances or as a result of injuries acquired at work or a professional disease.

The Order of Mother is pinned to the left side of the chest. If there are other orders, it shall be worn above them.

Description

The Order of Mother is a nine-pointed convex star inscribed inside a circle with the diameter of 40mm. In the center there is an embossed image of a woman and a child in sun rays. The image is set in a frame of a wreath of oak and laurel leaves. At the bottom of the wreath is a white and blue enameled bow. The plain reverse of the order bears the serial number of the award in the center.

The order is attached to a pentangular bar by a ring. The bar is covered by a light blue moire ribbon with a lengthwise blue stripe in the middle.

The order is made of silver and gold plated tombac.


The Order of Labor Glory

The Order of Labor Glory is presented in recognition of:

- considerable achievements in manufacturing, agriculture, construction, transport, and the services sector;

- outstanding achievements in culture, literature, art, education, medicine, scientific research, and other areas;

- highly productive work and dedication, manufacture of high quality products, application of cutting-edge technologies, innovations and technological solutions;

- great achievements in public administration and social activities, strengthening of legality, law and order, the country’s defense capacity.

The Order for Promotion of Peace and Friendship


The Order for Promotion of Peace and Friendship is the highest award of Belarus for foreign citizens and stateless persons.

The Order for Promotion of Peace and Friendship is bestowed upon foreign heads of state, high-ranking officials, outstanding politicians and public figures in recognition of:

- considerable achievements in the enhancement of bilateral relations with the Republic of Belarus, provision of all-round assistance in its social and economic development;

- a big personal contribution to the establishment of friendly relations and economic cooperation between the states, the integration of the Republic of Belarus in international associations;

- vigorous peacemaking activities, harmonization of international relations, sponsorship aid and organization of high-profile humanitarian events, promotion of unity and accord in the global community.
