Greetings to organizers of exhibition of Belarusian icons in Vatican

    Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to the organizers and participants of the exhibition “Icon Painting in Belarus in the 17th-21st centuries” in the museums of the Vatican.

    “This unique project which takes place in Belarus in the Year of Culture demonstrates inseparable spiritual and esthetic ties of European nations, their commitment to religious ideals and values,” the message of greetings reads.

    The head of state noted that the exhibition of Belarusian icons in the Vatican is a landmark event and an important step in the acknowledgement of Belarus’ invaluable cultural legacy, including Christian art.
