Distinguished Belarusians honored with state awards

    Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko conferred state awards on representative of various professions. The head of state signed a corresponding decree on 2 June.

    State awards were bestowed upon about 80 representatives of various professions for many-year productive work, exemplary fulfillment of service duties, vigorous public and social activities, attainment of good production results, a big personal contribution to the development of legislation and parliamentarism, construction industry and agriculture, science and education, art, culture, and sport.

    In particular, the Order of Fatherland 3rd Class was awarded to Deputy Prosecutor General of Belarus Alexander Lashin; the Order for Service to the Homeland 2ndClass – to Defense Minister’s Aide for Ideology in the Armed Forces, head of the main ideology department at the defense Ministry Alexander Gura.

    The Order of Honor was presented to Information Minister Lilia Ananich, Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly Anatoly Rusetsky.

    Medals for excellent labor were conferred on workers of Granit Company Alexei Koshman and Viktor Kurlovich, chief architect at OAO Polesyezhilstroy Sergei Makarsky.

    Medals of Francysk Skaryna were bestowed upon head of the laboratory at the V.F. Kuprevich Institute of Experimental Botany of the NASB Nikolai Laman, chief master of stage at the Belarusian Republican Young Spectator's Theater Nikolai Leonchik, and others.

    Besides, honorary titles were bestowed upon representatives of the manufacturing sector, prosecution bodies, organizations of culture, education and sport.
