Distinguished Belarusians honored with state awards

    Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko conferred state awards on representatives of various professions in recognition of many-year productive work, exemplary fulfillment of service duties, personal courage displayed in crime prevention and mitigation of emergency, a big personal contribution to the patriotic education of the youth, attainment of good results in the automobile production, construction, manufacturing sector and agriculture, achievements in the development of science, education, art, culture and sport. The corresponding decree was signed by the head of state on 13 November.

    The Order for Service to the Homeland 3rd Class was bestowed upon Colonel of Interior Service Vikenty Varikash, Colonel Alexander Minov, Major General of Interior Service Vasily Stepanenko.

    The Order for Personal Courage was posthumously conferred on Senior Lieutenant of Police Pavel Gruzdev.

    The Order of Honor was conferred on general constructor and head of the scientific and technical center of OAO BelAZ-Management Company of BelAZ Holding Company Alexander Yegorov, head of the educational, social and cultural department of the Council of Ministers Yelena Sivolobova, chairman of the council of the Minsk city organization of Afghanistan war veterans Pamyat of the Belarusian Union of Afghanistan War Veterans Vladimir Shokov.

    Rector of the Mogilev State Food University Vyacheslav Sharshunov received the Order of Francysk Skaryna.

    Besides, a big group of the military, workers of the Interior Ministry and the Emergencies Ministry were given medals for excellence in military service, maintenance of the public order, prevention and mitigation of emergencies.

    The Medal for Excellent Labor was bestowed upon 47 representatives of various professions.

    The Medal of Francysk Skaryna was conferred on artist of the Byaseda folk music band Nikolai Aleshko, singer (soloist) and chief master of stage of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of Belarus Tatyana Gavrilova, chairman of the Gomel Oblast department of the Belarusian Union of Writers Vladimir Gavrilovich, director of the Minsk State College of Arts Lilia Mitsura. The same award was bestowed upon head of the children and youth music department of the Belarusian State Philharmonic Vladimir Savchik, art director of the music department of the Belarusian State Philharmonic Tatyana Starchenko, dean of the international relations department of the Belarusian State University Viktor Shadursky, dean of the department for the professional advancement of education specialists of the Academy of Postgraduate Education Vladimir Yanchuk.

    The Honored Figure of Culture of Belarus title was conferred on editor-in-chief of the newspaper Respublika Anatoly Lemeshenok and director general of the Belarusian State Youth Theater Viktor Starovoitov.

    The Honored Worker of Agriculture of Belarus title was bestowed upon director of the company Servolux Agro of SZAO Servolux Vasily Mazurik. The Honored Builder of Belarus title was conferred on director of mechanization department No. 79 Sergei Starosvetov and director general of OAO Grodnozhilstroy Oleg Ushkevich.

    Chief coach of the Belarusian national rhythmic gymnastics team Viktoria Kushnir received the Honored Worker of Physical Education and Sport of Belarus title.

    The Honored Coach of Belarus title was conferred on Greco-Roman wrestling coach of the Borisov specialized Olympic reserve school for children and youth Oleg Azhigov and cycling coach of Rechitsa specialized Olympic reserve school for children and youth No. 1 Piotr Khritonov.

    Athletes of the Belarusian national trampoline team Nikolai Kazak and Tatyana Petrenya received the Honored Mater of Sport of Belarus title.

    The head of state also signed the executive order to officially thank a number of workers of the Council of Minister for professional excellence, many-year productive work in state administration bodies, a big contribution to the vibrant performance of these agencies. The head of state officially thanked members of the Belarusian Union of Afghanistan War Veterans for a big personal input in the establishment and development of veterans’ organizations, active participation in the military and patriotic education of the youth and social protection of veterans. The President’s official letters of thanks were also presented to Major Alexander Fofanov for exemplary fulfillment of service duties and attainment of good results in his work and to head of the information technologies department of the Labor and Social Protection Ministry Tatyana Zubovich for a big personal contribution to the implementation of the national social protection policy.
