On 3 November President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Ordinance No. 4 to introduce amendments and additions to Ordinance No. 12 of 22 September 2005 “Concerning the Hi-Tech Park.”

In line with the document, new science-intensive branches will be developed by the resident companies of the Belarusian Hi-Tech Park.

Companies can be included in the Hi-Tech Park and get corresponding tax preferences if they are engaged in IT industries (microelectronics, optoelectronics and nanoelectronics, mechatronics, telecommunications, radar ranging, radio navigation, wireless communications), information protection and establishment of data processing centers.

HTP resident companies can provide works and services regarding the analysis, designing and software development for IT systems (IT consulting, audit, maintenance of national information networks, creation of databases, application and operation of corporate information systems).

The document specifies the order of providing preferences to HTP resident companies in case they are involved in activities that were not announced before registration.

The ordinance will enter into force on 1 January 2015.
