Belarus
The Republic of Belarus is located in the center of Europe. It is situated on the crossroads of major transport routes between the CIS and Western Europe. Belarus shares borders with Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Russia and Ukraine.

The Republic of Belarus is located in the center of Europe. It borders Lithuania in the northwest, Latvia and the Russian Federation in the north, the Russian Federation in the northeast and east, Ukraine in the south, Poland in the west.
Economy
The Republic of Belarus is an export-oriented state with a well-developed production sector, services sector and agriculture. Belarus adheres to the socially-oriented model of the market economy which has proven to be consistent and efficient.
Society
The term ‘Belarusian’ emerged at the end of the 16th century to name people living on the ethnic territory of Belarus. By the end of the 19th century the term was permanently used to name people living on the territory of modern Belarus.
Regions
The Republic of Belarus is divided into oblasts, districts and other administrative units. The administrative division of the state is regulated by the legislation.
Science
Nowadays science plays a crucial role in building the knowledge-based economy in Belarus. The national innovation development program till 2015 has laid the foundation for this process.
Healthcare
The healthcare system in the Republic of Belarus is based on the principles of social justice and affordability.
Tourism
Tourism is one of the priorities of the Belarusian social and economic development. The government takes special care of this industry.
Culture
The Belarusian national culture has its roots in ancient times. It comprises colossal spiritual wealth which reflects moral, esthetic, intellectual values of the Belarusian people.
Sport
Modern Belarus is a full-fledged member of the global sport community. Belarus is among the top 20 countries out of 200 states taking part in the Olympic Games.
