Meeting with Russia Prime Minister Yevgeny Primakov

Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko held talks with Russia Prime Minister Yevgeny Primakov, who paid a working visit to Minsk, on 30 September 1998. It was Yevgeny Primakov’s first foreign visit as Russia’s head of government.
The sides shared opinions on a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda, including the promotion of integration in the Belarus-Russia Union State, cooperation in economy and finance. The parties emphasized the need to enhance the social vector of economic transformations. At the meeting, Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that the Belarusian and Russian executive bodies are committed to building the efficient and versatile economy in the Union State.
