Meeting with Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia

Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko met with Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All Russia who visited Belarus on 22-26 July 1995. The head of state personally welcomed the dignitary and stressed during their talks that the Patriarch’s visit to Belarus was a great honor. Patriarch Alexy II was awarded Francysk Skaryna Medal for his peacekeeping efforts and contribution to the strengthening of Slavic unity.
