On 26 September Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko visited the National September 11 Memorial & Museum in New York as part of the working visit to the United States of America. The memorial was opened at the site of the former World Trade Center buildings which were ruined in the terrorist attacks on 11 September 2001.
Aleksandr Lukashenko laid a wreath at a callery pear tree known as the "Survivor Tree" after enduring the terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center. It is one of the memorials in honor of the victims.
The President also laid flowers on the marble slab with the name of one of the 9/11 victims, Irina Buslo of Belarus.
