Meeting with Belarusian MPs

Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko attended the organizational session of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly on 21 November 2000. In his speech, the head of state summed up the results of the parliamentary election. He stressed that the election, contrary to some predictions of certain foreign and local opponents, was held in a democratic and transparent way, and was widely supported by the people. The president shared his vision of the operation of the new House of Representatives and advised the parliament to bolster interaction with other branches of power, to pay more attention to the development of regions.
