New Year party for children

Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko attended the New Year party for children and wished them a Happy New Year on 29 December 1999. The party was traditionally held at the Belarusian State Circus. The event brought together children from all regions of Belarus, including orphans and children with special needs.

The President announced the decision to hold such New Year parties in the more spacious Palace of the Republic in the future. Aleksandr Lukashenko wished the children to grow up healthy, to study well, and to become true patriots. “We are excited to celebrate the 2,000th anniversary of the birth of Christ. May this blessed holiday remain in your hearts forever,” he remarked at the end of his speech.
