First Congress of Teachers of Belarus

The First Congress of Teachers of Belarus took place in Minsk on 4 October 1997. Addressing the delegates of the forum, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko outlined pending issues in the education system and possible solutions. In particular, the president spoke about the reformation of secondary education with the preservation of the best traditions of Soviet school, as well as about cutting-edge technologies in the educational process, social support of teachers.

At the end of the forum, the winners of the nationwide contest for teachers Crystal Crane received their awards. Aleksandr Lukashenko handed over car keys to the winner of the contest – history teacher of Oshmyany Secondary School No. 2 Valentina Grinchuk.
