Town planning policy priorities for 2016-2020 determined in Belarus
Town planning policy priorities for 2016-2020 have been
determined in Belarus. President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed a corresponding
decree on 5 September.
Balanced development of regions and populated areas through the preservation and promotion of sustainable settlement forms; comprehensive improvement of living standards and environmental safety, improvement of regional and municipal transport networks, modernization of the engineering infrastructure in populated areas, harmonious development of the architectural and town planning infrastructure, preservation and rational use of the historical and cultural legacy are among the main town planning policy priorities for 2016-2020.
The resolution of these issues in 2016-2020 will ensure comprehensive development of regions and populated areas in Belarus, increase the volume of housing construction and create new jobs, raise the efficiency of using urban territories.
As a result, these measures will help create new tourist brands, recuperation, recreation, and tourism facilities. Besides, the share of alternative energy sources and recyclable materials in power supply and manufacturing will be increased.
