Telephone talks with former President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma
Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko had a telephone conversation with former President of Ukraine Leonid
Kuchma on 5 September.
Leonid Kuchma informed Aleksandr Lukashenko about results of the work of the Russia-Ukraine-OSCE contact group to settle the situation in Ukraine and thanked the Belarus president for the opportunity to work in Minsk so productively.
As Leonid Kuchma remarked, the very environment in Minsk had contributed to the success of the negotiation process however hard it may have been. In his words, they could not but come to terms because the Belarusian land itself encourages peace and accord.
