Telephone conversation between Presidents of Belarus and Russia

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin had a phone conversation on 24 February.

Aleksandr Lukashenko congratulated Vladimir Putin on the brilliant performance of the Russian team at the Sochi 2014 Olympics.

Vladimir Putin, in turn, congratulated Aleksandr Lukashenko on the huge success of Team Belarus at the recent Winter Olympic Games.

The heads of state discussed the topical issues of the bilateral cooperation.

They also shared their views on the situation in Ukraine and what this situation might mean for the two countries.
