Telephone conversation between Aleksandr Lukashenko and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov

    Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko and President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a phone call on Turkmenistan’s initiative on 11 March.

    The heads of state discuss practical aspects of bilateral cooperation. The parties took note of a high level of relations that allowed addressing jointly strategic issues in any area of cooperation. The Presidents praised the results of joint work in 2013 and $450-million trade reached by the two countries.

    Aleksandr Lukashenko and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov discussed a range of joint projects in the fuel and energy complex, equipment supplies and other areas. The sides also discussed the construction of Turkmenistan’s embassy in Minsk.

    The heads of state agreed that ministerial consultations would soon take place in Minsk to discuss the issues of bilateral and international agenda. The relevant instructions were given to the Foreign Ministries of Belarus and Turkmenistan.
