Telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan

    A telephone conversation between Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan took place late on Monday, 28 February.

    The main topic of the conversation was the events in the center of Europe and the issues of war and peace in this regard.

    The leaders of Belarus and Turkey discussed in detail the conflict in Ukraine, and also the Russian-Ukrainian peace talks, which began in Belarus on 28 February, and confirmed the focus on facilitating the peace process.

    The Turkish President said he was ready to facilitate the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine in every way possible. Aleksandr Lukashenko said that this position fully coincided with Belarus’ one.

    The conversation that lasted more than an hour also highlighted the issues of the West’s sanctions policy against Belarus and Russia.
