Trends and the state of affairs in the Belarusian economy will be discussed when the government delivers an extended report to the head of state. Preparations for the event were discussed during the meeting hosted by Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko on 14 March. The government is expected to deliver the extended report after Q1 2017 data is acquired.

According to the President, positive dynamics in the national economy is stated and assumed at present. “In order to make sure the positive dynamics exists, we need to analyze some period of time. We should use the first quarter of the year and organize this report,” said the head of state.

Ongoing processes will be objectively analyzed this way not only on the basis of last year’s performance but also on the basis of the statistics data that describe the operation of various branches of the national economy in Q1 2017. “We will be able to make forecasts and see how events are unfolding. I say it sincerely because I don’t want a situation when we severely criticize the government and take corrective measures while dynamics is positive in actual practice,” remarked Aleksandr Lukashenko.

Participants of the meeting held on 14 March also discussed the form and the content of the forthcoming government report. Over 300 people have been invited to attend the forthcoming government report event.
