Working trip to Minsk Oblast: the launch of the first power unit of Minsk CHPP-5

On 13 August 1999 Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko took part in a ceremony to launch the first power unit of Minsk CHP-5. The head of state declared the main principle of Belarus’ economic policy: creation instead of destruction. While congratulating the energy sector workers, he emphasized that the commissioning of Minsk CHPP-5 is an important milestone in the efforts to enhance the country’s energy security.
