President confers state awards

Over the last 15 years 6,891 women were awarded the Order of Mother. Close-knit families and healthy children are not only the happiness of parents, but also the backbone of the country's prosperity. Child allowances are increasing, housing conditions for many-child and young families are improving. A lot is done to encourage more women give birth to children. Even in the very complicated year of 2011 about 110,000 children were born in Belarus. This is the highest number over the decade," President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko said at the ceremony of conferment of state awards.
