Greetings to people of Federal Republic of Germany
Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to people of the Federal Republic of Germany as the country celebrates Unity Day.
“The reunification of your country which had been artificially divided for many years was one of the symbols of the ending of the Cold War,” the head of state remarked. “This landmark event opened a new page in the history of Europe.”
“I am convinced that Germans know the value of people’s unity and statehood. Therefore, people living in your country can understand and support the eagerness of Belarusians to preserve sovereignty and independence,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed. “Taking into account the tragic legacy of the past, Minsk and Berlin have done a lot for reconciliation and rapprochement in the past three decades.”
The President is convinced that the opportunities to overcome existing disagreements and stereotypes, resume dialogue and advance to a new stage of constructive cooperation will be found soon.
The head of state wished the multinational people of Germany tolerance, cloudless peaceful skies, and confidence in the future.
