Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko visited the Khatyn Memorial Complex on 22 March, the day of the 60th anniversary of the Khatyn tragedy.

"Our sacred duty to the fallen and the living is to prevent the burning of more villages and cities, the suffering and loss of life in the course of military conflicts and terrorist attacks, to maintain a peaceful sky over Belarus and over the entire planet," the head of state wrote in the distinguished visitors book.

Aleksandr Lukashenko honored the memory of the innocent victims of fascism with a minute’s silence and laid flowers at the monument to the Unconquered Man, as well as a wreath at the Eternal Flame.
